The installer will search for all partitions. If there are any non-standard or missing device drivers, your partition table will be rewritten. REQUIRED for UEFI. Not required for MBR or legacy BIOS.
The Xerox Printer Interface (XPI) is no longer supported. As a consequence, when installing the 4.10 kernel on RHEL 8 with older printers attached to the system, the printer driver is not accessible for printers.
The SCSI device controller driver supports the old libaio ABI, which was used for starting I/O threads upon receiving a file descriptor. As a consequence of this ABI change, the driver will ignore attempts to set the
aio-p flags parameter to
LIBAIO_FLAG_USE_AIO_SIGIO. This is required in some circumstances, e.g., when some iSCSI controllers require the
aio-p flags parameter to be set when starting I/O threads.
The network driver for iSCSI is not supported in the current release as a source device. As a result, PXE installation of a RHEL 8 ISO image with the network adapter enabled on a VMware ESXi 6.5.x host will fail as the installer cannot obtain a network connection to download the installer. A workaround is to use a NAS file share on NFS, but in this case the hardware iSCSI initiator will not be active.
The RTA Hotplug driver for SCSI is not supported as a hotplug controller. As a consequence, if a SCSI hotplug controller is active on the controller in use during disk installation, and if the installer detects the controller as a SCSI disk, the controller will not be released for use by the system. Because RHEL 8 has a switch for turning off most of the controllers by default to save power, it is possible that the installer will avoid the warning in favor of installation.
RECOMMENDED: Upgrades from RHL 7.6 and previous releases are supported for RHEL 8.0 users with Java 7 installed. The following are also supported: Oracle Java SE Java 7: Java 8: Java 9: Java 10: Java 11: Java 12: Java 13: Java 14: Java 15: Java 16: The Bi-directiol UART driver has been updated from a precompiled version of the gcc-4.8a compiler to a new one based on GCC 8. This GCC compiler supports the Bi-directiol UART but does not support the Tulip network driver. The Tulip network driver has been updated from a precompiled version of the gcc-4.8a compiler to a new one based on GCC 8. This GCC compiler supports the Tulip network driver but does not support the USB 2.0 Mass Storage Class. The USB 2.0 Mass Storage Class driver has been updated from a precompiled version of the gcc-4.8a compiler to a new one based on GCC 8. This GCC compiler supports the USB 2.0 Mass Storage Class but does not support the Tulip network driver. The ARM LDR and MDB support, as well as the MIPS LDR and MDB support, have been updated from a precompiled version of the gcc-4.8a compiler to a new one based on GCC 8. This GCC compiler supports the ARM LDR and MDB and MIPS LDR and MDB but does not support the Tulip network driver. Warning: Host PCFC driver x86-64 does not support driver versioning, which is used to install Fedora. This is because drivers older than the release version of the host PCFC driver (version 3.24.1) have a vulnerability in libfcoe.lib and therefore do not support installing versions of the driver later than the version specified in the host PCFC driver’s version check. This means that if the host PCFC driver in use does not support the version of the driver you are installing, as of the installer version 3.24.1, the installation will fail. 5ec8ef588b
